Women in NSW 2012, a comprehensive report on the status of women in NSW, was launched by Minister for Women, Pru Goward on 3 July.
The report presents compelling data on indicators that compare women and men in terms of health, education, work and financial security, leadership, and safety and access to justice.
The purpose of the report is to raise awareness of gender issues and to strengthen the evidence base for government, business and community action on issues concerning women.
Women in NSW will be published annually so that progress and trends can be tracked over time.
You can view the Women in NSW 2012 Report and factsheet here.
Women NSW will be consulting during the remainder of 2012 on information raised in the report and content for future reports.
If you would like more information or have ideas for future reports, email womennsw@facs.nsw.gov.au
Please include ‘Women in NSW 2012’ in the subject line of the email.
Also on 3 July, what was formally the Office for Women’s Policy was renamed Women NSW. The new name recognises that the office’s role goes beyond policy advice to engaging stakeholders in change.
